Re: Question for GMG/Pellet grill owners
Thanks chaps, I'm seriously considering a GMG grill but I was concerned I would also need some sort of shelter but from your replies it looks like i can pretty much treat it like I do my WSM and Performer. That's good news!

Question for GMG/Pellet grill owners
Do you have your GMG grill under some sort of shelter when it's running? I am thinking of getting one, my Weber BBQs sit with their covers on when not in use and I've had it rain on my WSM a few times while in use, but with the GMG grills being electric I assume they wouldn't react well to being ...

Re: Inspiration / Favourite BBQ Food
I've started to find that after a long brisket or pork shoulder cooking session, followed by burgers etc, that all the food tastes like my t-shirt smells... Everyone else is loving it and I'm just 'meh'. I think I'm more interested in making sauces than cooking the meat now. I do want to make some ...

Re: WSM Brisket - water or clay in the pan??
I switched to sand, I got a bag of sand pit sand from B&Q and put that in the bowl on my WSM instead. Works fine, temperatures are much more stable and I get through less fuel as it's a great heat sink. No refills mid cook required either!

Re: A Cook Abroad - Argentina
I watched this last night, the beef was more entertaining than the presenter, but it did get me thinking about cooking big slabs of cow! It also made me hungry.

Re: Anyone fancy a NEW Traeger Pellet Grill At HALF PRICE?
It's tempting, but with the recommendation to get all the spares and then shipping etc I'm leaning towards a Jim Bowie or maybe being sensible with the DB. I had a look on Alibaba and I was amazed at the different pellet smokers out there, if you want to buy 50 at a time!

Re: To Inject or Not ....
I don't think it's needed, but there is potential for making things more interesting. I bought a decent stainless steel injector but I've only used it once and not for ages. If I get a pellet grill I might experiment more with it.

Re: Thermometer
The best meat thermometer I've found is the ETI Superfast Thermapen. It really is good.
If you want to monitor your meat/grill temperatures without opening the lid then there are a number of options. I have a couple of the Maverick ET732 wireless things and they work well enough.
