I'm sure if I had a thermometer to keep an eye on the temp I'd find the same thing - until I get one though ignorance is bliss as they say and I'll just assume all is fine lol. I'll definitely be investing in a better bbq at some point though once I raise my game a bit :)

Love the look of this recipe - especially the use of Guinness! Although I think it needs more than 1 bottle - 1 for the cooking and extra for drinking ;)

First attempt at pulled pork.

So I had my first attempt at pulled pork at the weekend after buying a new bbq. I have to say it was a success... not a complete success but a success none the less!

I initially had a few problems getting the coal briquettes to light (and had them go out after a couple of hours) but I put that down ...

Cheers guys, and I didn't give her an excuse I just told her it was too late to do anything about... all my limbs are still attached so it seems to have worked!

Will let you know how it goes - jumping in straight at the deep end and doing pulled pork so I'll probably be up half the night to get it ...

Hi all,

I've always enjoyed bbq's but didn't get into it properly until last year when my brother visted from America and bought me "SLOW FIRE The Beginner's Guide To Barbecue" and 2 bottles of Famous Daves bbq sauce.

I'm now obsessed with bbq'ing! I've bought a new smoker bbq that serves upto 8 ...
