Re: 1st cook Weber One Touch Premium & Smokenator
What you think about this one for £6.50? looks like i could still add a bit liquid to the bottom, although i guess thats for catching fat which will also steam the inside ok?

Re: Ribs and shoulder, advice please.
Out of interest where is the pit probe from the maverick (i.e. on the grate handle or dangling in the air vent at the top)?
It was put through the grommet in the middle section, and clipped to the bottom grate.
And this is the result

Re: Ribs and shoulder, advice please.
The wind wasn't really an issue, it wasn't blowing loads, the rain was the main problem, that, and the outside temp.
The grill and food was measured with a maverick wireless doo-dad.
Just finishing my morning coffee, then i'll go pull the shoulder apart.

Re: Ribs and shoulder, advice please.
well, the grill reached a peak of about 245F, but then kept dropping, it fell down to 220, with the pork at about 170, so i threw in the towel, and finished it off in the oven. It was odd, because when i lifted the middle out, the charcoal looked to be burning really well. I don't know, maybe i just ...

Re: Ribs and shoulder, advice please.
So, the ribs. I left them on longer than i intended, because i've been having trouble getting the temps up.
So, I thought they looked ready, but just took one piece off, as a tester

Cut them up, looking good

Then covered in rub

The ribs took a bit of work, getting the membrane off, but got there eventually
