Re: Weber Smokey Mountain
I've got a 47 and a 57 and yes the 57 burns through fuel at a quicker rate. In general unless I need the space I stick with the 47. But there are occasions where the extra space on 57 is a god send, multiple racks of ribs are easier on the 57. My 57 used to leak more than the 47 but there are a ...

Re: WSM 37/47/57 What size do I need!?
I've got a 47 and a 57. Typically I'm cooking for family and small groups. The 47 is enough for this and my 57 doesn't see much use these days. I do like the 57 when I'm cooking lots of different things at the same time though.
One other point, the 57 eats through fuel at a quicker rate than the 47.

Re: Sourcing Briquettes.
I like the weber ones. Yes they smell a bit when first lighting but they soon settle down. I've been buying them off world of power lately works out about a £1 a kilo plus delivery (free delivery if you spend over a £100).
I find them very reliable/ predictable. Also like heat beads which seem to ...

Re: Weber Premium Briquettes 7kg - £8.57
They are £7.87 at World Of Power though you have to pay for delivery unless your order is over £100 (which is what I did with the 10kg bags to get me through the winter)

Re: First overnight smoke - advice and tips from veterans!
I'll also do as Tiny and RobinC suggest and I'll bring the cook forward and let the meat rest for longer. What do I need to do with it if I put it in a cooler? I've read something about a towel and then into the cooler. Is that right? How long can I expect it to stay hot enough to pull for?
I ...

Just a couple of random thoughts/comments
- no real need to rub ahead of time. I tend to rub pork butts ahead of time when I've got very early morning starts just so it's one less process for me to do at silly o clock in the morning. Can't say I've ever noticed any real difference in the end result ...
