Re: Trotters

I reckon - and they're cheap enough to take a gamble on - that a very slow cook would see them amazing no matter the method, because they're mostly connective tissue - there's very little actual meat there. I thinkf they'd get good and melty and not manage to dry out too much. But all the recipes I ...

Re: Pulled pork advice

Ooh, I might try a slowcooker, if I can get my paws on one in time. It would definitely be useful until I can get the galley properly sorted, and if I find I don't use it after that I can always rehome it.

In the slow-cooker with or without foil? Do I add any liquid or just leave it to stew in its ...

Re: Pulled pork advice

Yeah - sadly oven-free here for the next few months. I have a fair amount of work to do before one will happen. Which also means buying - not baking - bread for this bash on Sunday. :(

So, I think my options are;

Smoke it slowly on Saturday, foil it up, cool it, and get it in the fridge for the ...

Re: Pulled pork advice

I would love to leave it running all night, but I don't have a proper smoker - just a Weber kettle creature. And a proper smoker won't be happening before next summer.

I don't want to stay up all night tending the beast because it's boatwarming BBQ day the next day, and I want to be bright and ...

Pulled pork advice

Hi there! I need your help please!

I am planning to pull a pork this weekend, and have invited lots of people over to help me eat it. I'll be feeding about 20 - 30 people I think. I'll be grilling plenty of kebabs and burgers too, and there'll be lots of salad/veg/bread/sides, so people won't be ...

Re: hey there!

So I went for the nice big One Touch and it turned up today. Here it is all ready to go! I'm about to try it out with a lump of brisket.

Re: hey there!

I am *very tempted* by the Smokey Mountain, but I think I will have to settle for a regular Weber one-touch for the moment - I want to maximise my cooking area (I like cooking up BIG FEASTS), and the 57cm Smokey Mountain is too far out of my budget, I think. Plus, I should still be able to do some ...

hey there!

Hello. New here. I have at last - after years in a flat - gotten some space to do proper outdoors cooking. I'm pretty good at slow-cooking in stove or oven and very excited about my impending big BBQ purchase. And will be asap asking for recommendations about what I should buy.
