My 1st cook with the maverick was the same. I panicked and thought the Maverick was giving wrong readings so i tested it in boiling water and it was spot on 212f.

I don't think the Weber one in the lid is out, but I'm pretty sure the temp up there is hotter than on the grate as the heat is rising ...

Ive had a brisket and butt from them, i wont again! The ribs i havent seen but they are frozen together so when needing any racks you pretty need to defrost the whole lot

Oh no that doesn't sound good at all how come you won't be buying from them again?

Looking for a good reasonable priced ...

Hi all

I've been looking at meatpacks.co.uk and I'm thinking of buying some Fribin Baby Back Ribs. They say they are frozen packed in ice box and sent overnight. Im a little worried they may turn up slightly thawed out, as i want freeze them when they arrive.

Ah i see, excellent thanks Dave. Then just drain them and smoke the same along with the normal ribs? but without the rub

How are bacon ribs usually cooked by non smokers?

Thank you for the help. I did plan on smoking the bacon ribs, but now i hear what your saying, maybe i will boil as u say, i don't want to ruin them by smoking. Im sure all the rubs i have contain salt. Maybe i could smoke them with no rub, foiled earlier than the others with some apple juice to try ...

Hi Dave, yes they are ribs on the packed it says 'fresh british bacon ribs' and the butcher said they are cured, i don't know what the difference is lol, they just taste like bacon?

Whats rubs would you use from the ones i have? brown sugar then some rub?
