New Weber Briquettes

Out in January will be interesting to see what they are like. The old ones did take a while to get going.
Will these finally be equal to or better than Heat Beads!

The pros:
They light quickly.
Decent burn time.
Fairly minimal ash.

The cons:
Extinguished coals are very fragile and will crumble into dust if not handled very carefully.

Overall, they're good, but ...

Re: Supagrill Wonder Briquettes

Had a few bags of these delivered today, will post some feedback once I've had a chance to cook with them.

Let me know what you think of them. Been so busy for the last couple of months that I have not had a chance to properly test them. Things have slowed down for me now so will defo test them ...

Re: Where can you buy quality fuel over the counter

You can buy direct from Big K at

Unit 20, Milmead Industrial Centre, Mill Mead Road, Tottenham Hale, London N17 9QU.

I drive up there to stock up even though I am based in SW London.
15KG restaurant bags are about £10.50

Re: Supagrill Wonder Briquettes

Sorry I have not replied to some of the questions yet - had a busy few weeks. These are continuing to grow on me & definitely better than standard briquettes. Have a large family gathering planned this coming weekend so will test them head to head against the Weber Premium Briquettes. Still think ...

Re: Supagrill Wonder Briquettes

Done a few more cooks with these & they are growing on me.
As they light so quick compared to other briquettes I may have been leaving them in the chimney starter for too long leading to reduced burn time. On my latests cooks both the heat output & burn time have been a lot better than my first few ...

Re: Supagrill Wonder Briquettes

I too would be very interested in how these perform. I mainly use restaurant lump from bookers and have tried heat beads for a few cooks. Didn't notice any distinct advantages apart from the obvious benefits of the consistent briquette shape and none of the crushed up chumbly bits you get at the ...
