Re: Excellent article on the stall

Thanks for posting that link. I had thought the idea of foiling was overstated; I never foil ribs and only foil butts after taking them out of the smoker at 190F internal and then holding for about 2-3 hours in an insulated cooler. Stuff I learn from the basic tips on the virtual weber site. So ...

Re: When do you put your meat on

I start with hot water when smoking. So, my routine for the WSM involves loading unlit charcoal and the wood chunks to the ring and starting some charcoal in a chimney (minion method start). I put a full electric kettle of water on at that time. Since it takes three pot of water to fill the water ...

Re: What's your favourite brand of BBQ sauce?

You cann get the American Jack Daniels sauce from American Sweets. That's the same stuff TGI's use :D

Hey, this is a find! I'm in the States and have found Jack Daniels No. 7 to be the dead ringer for sauce used on a local restaurant's ribs that a Scottist friend loves. He now buys several ...

Re: Hey, ya'll, from USA

A few years ago when in Florida I was offered BBQ Gator. After overcoming initial hesitation I tried it and to my surprise it was.... just like chicken - LOL. Welcome to the forum :-)

You're more adventurous than I. Live in Florida for over 30 years and never tried it. But then I lead a deprived ...

Re: Hey, ya'll, from USA

Thanks for the welcomes.

Apparently Britain has been taken over by the supermarket, just as the States, from what I've heard. In my area, a supermarket rarely has the meat cuts needed for smoking, such as full racks of ribs and large pork butts and beef brisket. It's all prepackage, precut ...

Re: Introducing BBQ Shack

Wow, would you know it, I've got a friend that needs to know about this place! He's looking for BBQ ribs everytime he comes to the States and here he is working just up the road at Crawley.

Love that "man on meat action" line in the review

Hey, ya'll, from USA

Was googling for prices for the Thermopen and wound up sidetracked on this forum.

I'm in northwest Florida in Fort Walton Beach. Been smoking with a WSM for a little over a year now. And the oddest thing, a Scotsman is the one that got me into this.

See, he's a project engineer at Thales and has ...
