Since replying , I finally set up my wsm & gave it a whirl. I read through the instructions and it says not to use heat beads in it. They don't give any reason but just giving you guys a heads up.

Hi,
I'm new to kettle bbqing & WSM smoking, but I have used the heat beads and have found they just burn too hot. I've also used the weber briquettes and found them a nicer fuel to work with, & control. The Americans swear by Kingsford but we don't have that choice over here unless you want to pay ...

Hi, my name's Giovanni for Folkestone. Pleasure to meet you all. I've just bought 57cm WSM and a total beginner to smoking but very enthusiastic to getting going. Great to see a site dedicated to this side of the pond!
