Butchers paper

Hi
I have a few recipes that require the use of butchers paper. I tried my local butcher last year and he said he may be able to get me some. However in the meantime I used grease proof paper.
Does anyone have any experience around using this, and is there a good substitute for butchers paper?

It's not cheap online.

its more like baking parchment but thicker

it does give a unique result as it doesn't "seal" the meat in it can kinda breath, and it absorbs grease rather than deflecting it if that makes sense?

I had looked on Amazon and was surprised by how expensive it was, but it seems that it is probably worth it. May have to treat myself.

I got some from my local butcher in the end. He seemed surprised at the request as they don't normally sell it. £2.50 for a roll. And it works well.
