Well I'm convinced

Using Aussie Heat Beads for the first time ever...overnight Brisket cook on my WSM.

I have to say, I am converted. They leave every other briquette in the shade by a long margin.

When you first open up the bag they just feel more weighty and solid. No bits crumbling off and flaking away. Burn time better than Webber, and the temp seems to hold better. Still cooking so haven't had a chance to see what colour any ash is but smoke seems more like wood smoke. Sitting here in bed, watching my Maverick and sipping a coffee, and smelling of wood smoke.....ahhhhhhh bliss :D
