Advise on decent thermometer

Postby T1LL3Y » 27 Dec 2016, 17:40

Hi guys
Ive been looking for a good meat thermometer for a while now ive been theough 2 of the standard £10-£20 ones and want to get something that will last.
I have been looking at the maverick et 733 and also the igrill2
Has any one got and advise on either of these or any better?
Just seen the et 735 aswell which im guessing rivals the igrill2?

Thanks

Maverick 733 is a brilliant unit - very well respected. I use one for everyday cooking not just BBQ.

For instant reads, the Thermapen is a very good unit.

732 or 733, the 735 is Bluetooth I believe and not such a good range or connection. I have 2 733s and have never had a problem with either.

I've got two Habor ones - a foldable one, just like the thermapen - and the one with a probe on a wire with a timer etc, like the maverick. Obviously not as high quality but they're both bang on temperature wise, and have served me very well so far. A good option if you're looking to save a bit of cash.
