Stacker for 18.5" WSM?

Postby jgdh » 19 Aug 2017, 08:37

I have had a 18.5" WSM for 3 years now, and once a year cook for a big party. Last year I did 4 x 4kg pork butts from Turner and George, but for next year would like to add extra capacity and cook a brisket too. I have been looking at stackers to extend the capacity, and would be interested to know if anyone here has tried any of these, or whether there are other options I have missed. I have found:

ProQ WSM stacker - I doesn't look like they make this any more, I guess as they compete with the WSM
Barbecue Stacker (http://www.barbecuestacker.com) - UK made, so easy shipping. Looks like I need the deluxe one for a tight fit, but they only makes it for the larger WSM. The standard one has a join that makes it fit a variety of BBQs, but I am guessing that's not going to be great for low'n'slow.
Cajun Bandit (https://www.cajunbandit.com/18-5-WSM-St ... 8stack.htm) - looks like exactly what I'm after, but I can't find a UK distributor (and it's more money)

Any advice gratefully received!

I am also a WSM owner and have searched for a stack up system for my 18.5". One thing could do is approach a local machine shop/fabricator and have the middle section replicated with the one you have and double stack it that way. Just a thought

I sent this to you yesterday - not sure why it didn't post. I am new to the site but have been smoking with WSM for over 10 years now. This web page has some advice for increasing your capacity. Some say it's almost cheaper to buy a second WSM if your that keen to get more space - depends how handy you are or how determined you are to build something new.
Good luck
have a good Christmas

Just following up on this - I have concluded the Cajun Bandit stacker is the only viable option. Does anyone know of a UK distributor? Or if I contact Cajun Bandit and pay for shipping etc., is any one else interested?
