Mayhem in May queries

Postby Yeti » 22 May 2010, 12:38

Just got the last few items to buy for next weekend, and have a couple of questions.

Is a 1kg fire extinguisher large enough?

Are we supplied with a gazebo or do we need to bring our own?

Is there electric to run lights off?

When do we have to order more meat?

Can i heat up a bbq sauce/mop on a gas ring, or does it have to go on a bbq?

So many questions...can't wait for next weekend, lets hope the weather is as good as today.
Just about to go smoke a brisket and shoulder for one last practice.

Hey Yeti,

Your fire extinguisher will be fine. Some of us don't have one

You'll need your own gazebo. We've just got one from Asda that cost £15, there's similar ones available from Tesco. We treat them as disposable as if we're unlucky and get a windy day, they don't survive. There speaks the voice of experience. Plan to invest in a better one but it's not top of the comp list.

There's electric around the site, so no problem with your lights.

We heat our sauce for meat on a gas ring. I think the rules say use a BBQ for the sauce category but I'm not sure.

Will be good to see you next Friday.
