National Final Agenda

Postby British BBQ Society » 28 Jun 2010, 16:35

I have been looking at various ways to fill up the 3 days at Rudgwick Steam and Country show for our national final and have come up with the following can you let me know your thoughts. Due to additional competitions being added to the Society portfolio the American style low and slow comp that we all know and love will be called Pit Masters.
Cheers

Toby

Saturday Agenda

11am
At our National Final hosted by Rudgwick Steam and Country show we will begin proceedings with “Ready Steady Q” a mystery box competition in which competitors have 3 hours to fire up their grill and create a masterpiece for judging, with £1,000 up for grabs for the winner it has to be worth a go!! Depending on number of competitors this may be split into rounds during the day followed by a final cook off.

The British BBQ Society Pit Masters competition has 4 compulsory categories, Pork, Brisket, Ribs & Chicken with additional categories in Dessert and BBQ Sauce. The food is all slow cooked in the traditional American style.  Competitors will be given their meat at 2pm, which allows plenty of time for preparation prior to cooking for up to 14 hours over night. Hi Toby

Just wondered if you had thought about making one or some of the contests more like the American Royal and having some extra categories on the Saturday ... Beans, Vegetables, Side Dish .... or anything like that?

Might not work this year, but maybe next year?

Hi Toby,
everything sounds great. Really looking forward to it. Do we need to register kids and juniors in advance for their events?
