Easy BBQ Beans

I sort of threw this together after getting ideas off various BBQ sites. I cook these indirect on the Weber kettle with a few chunks of whatever wood I'm using. On one long smoke I put the pan on the charcoal grate underneath some turkey legs to catch the drippings.

1 tin baked beans (in sauce)
1 medium apple - dessert apples tend to stay chunky, cookers tend to break down, your choice
1 medium onion
1/2 cup your favourite BBQ sauce
Hot sauce - I tend to use Frank's - as much as you or your guests can handle

Chop the onion quite fne and fry in oil until soft.
Peel, core and chop the apple into cubes about 1cm
When the onions are soft add the apple and fry for a few minutes
Add all the other ingredients and heat through
Put into a pan that can go on your grill / smoker and smoke them for about an hour stirring occasionally to get as much of the smokey flavour in as you can.

Cheers. Mick
