I used to be a basmati rice man myself, but then i discovered some of the long grain varieties wih nice large grains an wih bi of "bite". I still live basmatin- but other varieties have their place. Ithnk basmati would be too delicate for BBQ.

I would love to see your microwave rice maker - who makes it?

aris, this is the one we have, it works well, you can even pre-cook rice for risotto should you ever feel the need.

Well, if it can make perfect fluffy basmati rice like you get in an Indian restaurant - i'll give it a go!
