A basic sweet rub i use for chicken and ribs is as follows

1 cup of Paprika
2 cups of Brown Suguar
2 teaspoons of mixed spice
1 teaspoon of garlic powder

Its basic and can be adjusted in many ways, hope it helps.

Baby Back Rib Dry Rub

This is a dry rub for baby back beef or pork ribs.

3 tbl. fine salt
1 tbl. Ancho chile powder
1/2 tsp. Ground cumin
1/2 tsp. Dried oregano
1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. Cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. jalapeno seasoning
2 Cup soft brown sugar
1/2 tsp. dry thyme
1/2 tsp. onion powder

In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix well.
Place each slab of baby back ribs on a piece of
heavy-duty aluminum foil, shiny side down, or plastic
wrap. Sprinkle each side generously with the dry rub.
Pat the dry rub into the meat. Refrigerate the ribs for
a minimum of 1 hour (overnight is much better).

Worth a try...
