The Rib Man

Postby ConorD » 25 Apr 2013, 11:17

I am living a blessed life this week. Red Dog Saloon yesterday and now The Rib Man turns up outside my office in London, well how could I resist.

Normally found in Kings Cross on Thursday and Brick Lane market on a Sunday this is some quality street Q.

They cook the back ribs low and slow over gas and finsih over charcoal through the night. They foil it so that the ribs sit in their own jou and then start peeling the meat from the bone before dawn so that they are ready to serve the morning market visitors (or hungry city workers who can't wait till lunch once they get a sniff ;) ).

This is as simple a menu as you can get - rib meat on or off the bone with a choice of home made BBQ or Hot Sauce.

I went for the BBQ sauce on a roll and it was lovely. There wasn't the bark associated with the low and slow smoked rib but turning a cheap cut like back rib into such succulent pork has to be commended.

If you get a chance then this guy is worth a visit - especially with the good weather to sit out and enjoy.

so i think i should apologise for teasing your tastebuds with promises of pork and then disappearing into mtgs for the rest of the day without stating exactly where it could be found. Sorry to one and all.

I should think so too..................

Not to worry, he will probably be at Citypoint tomorrow, but it did kick the taste buds.
He was the only one packing up, the others were still serving to quite a small crowd. So shows his product is good.

Sorry Keith, its the well known landmark so just came out with it.
What I should have said was :

"Balls Brothers"
Thats the building I recognised (and have fallen out of a few times).
So would you prefer balls on your rib meat.
