My relentless whining...

Postby LM600 » 08 Aug 2011, 17:25

...bitchin' and general annoyance towards the Mrs has finally worked and paid off....I am allowed to build a pit in the back garden!...Ahem, WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!

I can't do anything until about May next year (funds :( y'know) but I plan on a concrete base, blockwork and facing bricks with a domed and door'ed access hatch to refill the wood/charcoal with some expanded metal sheet for a grill and a steel hinged 'lid'

I reckon a couple or three hundred for the materials and then the hunt for whole hog'll start! :D

Excellent, I can't wait for the photo library of the build.

You have a good few months to learn Sketchup so I reckon it will be the mother of all outdoor ovens. Pimp it up with some cool lighting!

Nice One

Now when we get to see the pictures, maybe I could use them as the "other alternative" to a free standing smoker. Look darling I could always build one of these :D (hoping she wouldn't realise we don't have the room ;) ).
Keep us updated please even if all we can do is dream
