Posted: 27 May 2012, 15:04Sorry for the slow response, I got a new job at the end of last month, it's been kinda kicking my ass!
Yep unfortunately the old style nest seems to be the cause of several bases of the mini eggs to break....
As you can see the bottom literally "fell out"!
I cant find the solution at the mo but I believe that other than jus buying the new style nest, a way of stopping this from happening is to add some rubber tubing to the ring of the nest to stop the egg dropping into the ring when the heat makes it expand, this is not the only egg I've seen this happen to but it's the only one I can document as of now, I'll keep looking and will post what I can to help, but if I was you I might not be using the egg in the nest for prolonged periods at searing temps... kinda negates what makes the mini so special tho!
