ok, thanks.

I've found a model making supplier where I can get copper or brass 12"x12" sheet which is 0.7mm thick. A bargain at about £10!

Have you thought about getting ally and using the braising rods designed for it?

You can get sheet ally cheap on Fleabay and the braising rods aren't too expensive either.

Interesting.... never tried Brazing - is it the same as Soldering? I feel a little more investigation coming on!

Yeah pretty much. You can get some special aluminium braising/welding rods, they're flux cored and I assume designed to melt at the right temp for ally.

There's loads of videos on YouTube showing how to use them. They're more expensive than the ally sheet though :lol:

Looking at what you are trying to do, a no weld/glue solution is possible, it might not be pretty that's all.
