Walnut wood for smoking

Postby david.b » 29 Jul 2016, 08:18

I'm not newbie but have never tried before walnut smoking wood for my barbecue. It was the first time I've tried on the last weekends. My bad that I haven't read any forums and reviews before. The dense and sodium smoke from small 2L package of walnut chips have simply disappointed and even surprised me. The taste and smell of meals were bitter and maybe even sourness. Now I know that fruit mix with bitter walnut tree would be nice solution for smoker box, but I'm not sure that I would try those chips once again. I do not want to complaint about the manufacturer or store (https://ecowoodbbq.com/walnut-wood-chips-2litres-zip, because I've bought their products twice, maybe more, don't remember exactly. By the way, didn't find any bbq or grill recipes with walnut tree. Maybe you have some kept an eye?
