Seasoning a new BBQ

So.....I've just built a BBQ/smoker out of an unused Oil Drum.

I've painted the outside but how do I season the inside???

Hi and welcome. Forum should start picking up soon. It can be a bit quiet as a lot now on Farcebook. Need to keep this forum alive for us non-farcebookers!

If you burned off the drum before making the BBQ you probably don't need to season. Maybe just a trial burn to test temp management for 4 hrs or so?
