The British BBQ Society was honoured to be asked to compete in the American Royal Invitational This weekend, the invitational consists of State Champions and teams with multiple wins under their belts, ie the best of the best. I am delighted to say that we finished 83rd out of 138. This is the highest placing for a British Team in an Invitational since 2003!!!! Our scores were as follows.
------------------ 2010 -------- 2009
Chicken--- 150.8568---- 166.8570
Ribs------- 166.2856---- 152.5714
Pork------- 159.4286---- 159.4288
Brisket---- 169.7142---- 160.0002
Overall---- 646.2852---- 638.8574

Rather than rest on our laurels the British BBQ Society imidiately competed in the open competition, this was used by us to try different rubs and allow everyone within the team to “have a go” we finished 304 out of 499 Teams with the following scores
--------------------- 2010-------- 2009
Chicken---- 148.0000---- 141.7140
Ribs------- 167.4286---- 154.2856
Pork-------- 146.2856---- 142.8568
Brisket---- 150.2858---- 161.7142
Overall---- 612.000---- 600.5706

These are great results for the team, improvements have been made on both scores irrelevant of acheieved position, and everyone worked incredibly well together, Everyone is pretty tired and I am sure we will all post further details including 1,000’s of pictures when we arrive back on Tuesday.
