Completely understand, however can you get a whole pig in your oven? These came about for stress free cooking at large gatherings. They are never going to win flavour awards, but to be honest I feel the same about gas hog roasts.

Aha so it's just a size thing. I think I was misled by the word "microwave" and thought they were small.

My understanding is that Its basically taking the mick out of the "cajun" people living in the swamp without the mod cons we are all used to.............. although I would be happy to be corrected.

The meat can be injected and rubbed for flavour, you can also do as I did and smoke the meat in a cold smoker for a few hours before putting it in the box.
The great thing about these is you can cook your veg, grill, sear ,boil etc on the top while meat is cooking inside.
And they cook fast and moist, a 60lb pig in 4-5 hours.
