Cheap Thermapen 3 on eBay... need to be quick!

I just picked one of these up at £24 (free delivery) so thought I'd share since it's a good price. But there's only one left so you'll need to be quick!

I bought one of these 'refurbished' thermapens several years ago. It was brand new from what I could see. I suspect this is just a way for the manufacturer to get rid of overruns, or idle stock.

But why would they class it as refurbished? Just say it's brand new but clearing stock - keeps the integrity of a brand new sale at same sell prices...

Because that's not how retailing works. Doing that would diminish the value of their 'new' stock as this could be seen as the new retail price of the item. Customers wise up and don't buy any stock unless it is at this price.

Many manufacturers use eBay as a way of getting rid of old or idle stock. Talking it down and while lowering the price is how they do it without losing face or the perceived value of their normal stock.

I'm unsure how they would get so much refubished stock - i mean, how many of these things are actually returned? They are an excellent product - and what I got was quite frankly - brand new in my eyes.

Just need to sell as clearance on old stock... Companies reduce the value of stock each year until usually about 5 years after it being in stock it's registered as zero cost so it's 100% profit once sold. Don't see how or why people would assume this is the new price is marked with clearance-old stock

It makes no sense to sell it cheaper when it's just the same as a newly made one if they can sell it at the higher price which they could if it's not refurbished.

Either way, don't like refurbished goods as to me it's 50/50 if the original unknown problem will reoccur. Been on the wrong side of that too many times.

Comes with a standard 1 year warranty so they seem to be confident of its reliability

The seller is ETI, so any refurb will be as good as a new one!
