BBQ Logos and Team Names

I've seen a lot of different team names and logos throughout the forum.

I thought it would be cool to have a thread with all the different logos and team names members have. Perhaps even a little note explaining the name!

I'm not officially a team or anything yet, but have (prematurely) name my team 'Beagle Boy's BBQ'


My beagle, Charlie, has had a keen interest in the WSM since I got it, always sniffing around and generally trying to lick fire. My wife said he should be my co-chef, and the idea stuck in my head and 'Beagle Boy's BBQ' was born..

Any other stories?

My team name is Bite the Bullet which was originally dreamt up because we only cooked on Bullet style smokers:



I suppose for 2011 it's not that relevant but it does reflect a BBQ roots so I'm less inclined to change it.

Our team info reads:

"The Bite the Bullet BBQ team was formed in Feb 2009 in response to the formation of the BBBQS.

The team comprises of the Platts Family, Adie Platts - Proprietor of a Specialist I.T business by day, Claire Platts (aka the real driving force) and Jamie & Jade Platts.

All Team members have many years of Grilling and BBQing experience and have competed in all BBQS sanctioned competitions and socials in 2009. The formation of the BBBQS has resulted in the team or representatives of the team BBQ'ing in Guildford, Sheffield and Kansas City.

All Weather Griller has a posted all his photo's on the BBBQS Facebook Group which gives an excellent insight to one of the most memorable weeks of BBQ'ing.

This team is Looking forward to competing in as many future BBBQS Sanctioned events whenever the opportunity arises."

This is perhaps quite an opportune moment for any other teams that are thinking or have competed to either create or update their team profiles for the 2011 season.

My team is Royal Q Pit Crew

You'll see our logo on the right (my avatar)

The Royal comes from being based in Reading, "Royal" Berkshire. The football team call themselves the Royals so if they can use the term why can't we?

The logo was designed by myself, you can probably tell as I'm no graphic designer. The main part of the logo is the crowned Q, the crown is actually a drawing of a crown on one of my tattoos that I modified a bit, some of the other elements on the logo are inspired by tattoos also.

The slogan "if it bleeds, we can grill it" is a parody of Arnie's infamous line in Predator "If it bleeds, we can kill it"
