Wood

Hi

Sorry if this has already been asked. ;)

I am looking at sourcing some large chunks of wood to use during my cooks. If I know someone with a fruit tree is it simply a case of getting some cuttings from them?

I read that you need to be careful about which woods you use and where you get them from but does this relate only to treated woods etc.

Family members have large oak trees and fruit trees that are regularly trimmed - I am hoping to get some donations :D

I think you need to season the wood for a year, you need to make sure that it's free from pesticides and treatments I think.

Bt ask a wood man, there is one on here.

Hi Philnewts,

I've used www.druidswood.co.uk before for split hickory logs, from memory the cost was something like £25 for a 20kg sack delivered.
