Cooking on a Cajun Microwave

Post by CyderPig »

Hi All
I have just finished building my mini cajun microwave, and wonderd if any members have experience cooking on these?
This one is big enough to cook 3 chickens at one time or 2 large pieces of pork.
I put up a post of how I built it in the wood fired section, and there are some pics on my facebook page.
I am going to try a lump of pork injected with cider and lime juice and then rubbed with some Stubbs for my first go, not sure about timings just gonna wing it!

Looks good Simon. I've seen the ones made by http://www.lacajachina.com/ - and they work well for a whole suckling pig. Check out the cooking instructions on their web page.

There are some how-to videos on YouTube too.

Hi Simon, bearing in mind the thickness of the farmhouse's walls just how loud is the "ding" on the microwave ;)

Looks good, I can still see some grass in the fields so plenty of room to build more cookers :D

Damn, these things cook fast!!
Will use a lot less charcoal next time!!!
3/4 of an hour in and the pork needs turning!
