Re: Anyone been to Grillstock?
its by a heavy metal band called Slipknot (one of their lighter songs)
the lyrics are how i feel about my first sons mum, things happen and i cant change them
and i'll never get her back, its a perminant reminder of her.
I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss
I couldn't face a life without your light
But all of that was ripped apart...
when you refused to fight
So save your breath, I will not hear.
I think I made it very clear.
You couldn't hate enough to love.
Is that supposed to be enough?
I only wish you weren't my friend.
Then I could hurt you in the end.
I never claimed to be a saint...
My own was banished long ago
It took the death of hope to let you go
So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul
You never needed any help
You sold me out to save yourself
And I won't listen to your shame
You ran away - you're all the same
Angels lie to keep control...
My love was punished long ago
If you still care, don't ever let me know
If you still care, don't ever let me know...
now back to the MEAT

Re: Anyone been to Grillstock?
its alright, im sure there will be more chances for a meet up. i think we should all find a mid point between all of us and meet up somewhere for a meal and some drinks before the summer is out.
Im pretty much center of england so can get to anywhere with in three hours. but maybe being in the middle it'd be easier for people to travel my way? im litrally 10 minutes from East midlands airport.

Re: Anyone been to Grillstock?
The first year I've been and it was a belter!
Beer was good, BBQ was even better, great to see and chat to some of you guys and congrats to everyone on a good job.
Did the wing eating comp on the Saturday, didn't do to bad, had four wings left when the winner finished.
Also did a Big Apple Hot Dog challenge, managed to take down three huge poles in one bun and I'm now the record holder according to Abiye the owner, good fun!
Will definitely be heading back next year, great fun was had

Not sure about wings, we got a large box of wings, i'd say around 20 wings. But it's worth a go just for a giggle if nothing else.
