I just brought this and have tested it in boiling water with a 1 degree difference in the two probes!!! Its a double probe so seemed perfect and it costs just under £15!
Probe A read 212.6F and Probe B read 213.4F when tested.
Quite agree, I had had Salter probes before and they were all metal and my oven only goes to 250c and it read that okay. I can't see the point of having insertion probes that can't stand really high temps.

They aren't perfect but for £15 they are ok. I only need them to monitor temp at both ends of offset and check temp of meat so will be fine. They won't be used for the oven

I won't need them to with stand massively high temps so hopefully should be ok. I got them as money is tight and they should do the job I need.
