Ideal for UDS

Post by CyderPig »

Hi All
Homebase are stocking 23cm grates that are ideal for anyone building a UDS.
Not quite as large as the Weber grates and not as strong, but for £4.99 a pop, very good value.
Cheers

I bought some a few years ago. A bit flimsy, but they are cheap and do the job.

You sure you mean 23cm Si? My UDS is 22" / 57cm. I keep meaning to go and grab a couple, can always double them up for big cooks.

I double them up for big cooks, but 4 grills for less than the price of 1 weber grill NO COPMLAINTS.
Take your choice.
Works for Me .
I have built 9 of these and they work, cheaper than buying expanded metal, almost the same size as the drum, round, ready made and they do what they say on the packet.

Hi Dan
Buy more than you need as it is always handy to have a clean grate to set your foiled meats on for the 2nd part of your cook so the foil doesn't stick, causing leaking of foiling juices and meaty goodness.
