2 racks on a UDS
OK, so I have my barrel, weber lid, grill and plumbing parts. Burning out barrel tomorrow night and will get to work at the weekend on it.
I like the idea of having 2 rack, so I can get more in it (thinking ribs feast), but have not seen anything on how the lower rack would come out if it was the same size as the one above - everyone has long bolts for it to rest on.
Am i missing some thing?
Also with 2 racks and a weber lid, how would you space them? 3 inches from the top for the first, then the seconds 8 inches below it for the second?

DD if you check out Cyderpig's website/facebook page look at the pictures of his fried chicken and you will see both racks in action.

will do, but still need to know how the lower rack is removed, when the supports of the top rack are in place.
Is it that there is enough clearance, between the top and bottom racks, that when you tilt the bottom rack, there is clearance to get past the supports for the top rack?

Hi
Yes that's what you have to do, you can cut the top supports a little shorter to aid this process.

Once you have fitted the grate pull it over to one side and measure the minimum length of bolt that you need and cut all sides the that. Then just leave eough room between the top and bottom so that you can tilt it up to miss the top bolts.

Re: 2 racks on a UDS
cheers guys. all makes sense.
I have just the one rack at the mo, but will set it at a height, so there is room to add one below at a later date.
struggling to find some expanded steel, for the sides of my basket, but will go out on the hunt tomorrow. Other than that, I have all other parts

I'd have one on each grate personally. Unless it's only a small gap.
