Hi all,
Due to the lack of wood chips up here (but not wood) I wondering if it would work to use coarse grain oak sawdust in a Weber smokebox? Wood chunks would be too big and I don't have the cash to get a heavy gauge wood chipper and there are none to rent in my area.
Would I be correct in thinking that the sawdust would combust too quickly?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as this Christmas I'll be using a Weber Q2200 gasser instead of my ECB Bullet. to do racks of ribs.
I've never used a gasser before, but am interested in the speed advantage when cooking other stuff.

If it were me, I'd just wrap the dust up in tin foil, (cigar shaped) and prick it a couple of times to let the smoke out. Restrict the air supply and it wont burst into flames.
