Cheers chaps,
Makes sense but they do seem a little superfluous, as I arrange my lit charcoal by hand it stays where I put it, my thinking on the baskets was to allow me to pack the smaller bits of lump in. I think i have shared before the deadliness of small bits falling out of the bottom of the chimney starter.......figured if iI could pack a basket with difgfferent sized bits then apply some lit minion styley I would avoid chucking away all the small stuff.
There is also an aluminium pan suspended on 3 clippy things below the animal, I am presuming this to b some kind of drip pan or ash catcher but in my opine it is too far away, too light and too fiddly to move in and out easily am I correct in my analysis???
Cheers
Tiny
Where will it end?

Yes it collects ash - and doesn't do a bad job.

I've placed a roses tin there. I had issue with the wind just blowing the dust out of that bowl all over the garden.

small bits falling out of the bottom of the chimney starter I had the same problem but I bought a disposable BBQ ( I DIDN'T COOK ON IT) and cut a disc out of the grid to fit my chimney thus stopping all but the most minute pieces falling out. It still lights okay.

When I was using my Weber (it is currently on loan), I used to do Beer Can Chicken without the food rack. I would set up two charcoal baskets on opposite sides, and sit the Chicken on the charcoal grate between them. Worked a treat, gave me lots of head room, and the chicken was extra crispy (but not burnt)derekmiller wrote:Also gives you the height for a Beer Can Chicken. From The Sauce wrote:The rotisserie attachment is wonderful.

Yep I don't use the rotisserie ring for BCC, however it is of use when vertcally roasting turkey.
