Here in the United States there are several choices of BBQ sauces to be had. Basically you have light tomato , heavy tomato,vinager, mustard and now even a few fruit based sauces as well.
For myself personally and for competions we use a Sweet and Smokey Black Lable Jack Daniels sauce. See below use and enjoy .

Team Squeel Appeal BBQ Sauce 6
1 cup ketchup
1 cup Black Lable Jack Daniels
1 /2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/ 2 Cup Honey
½ Cup Molassas
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
3 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon cane syrup
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
1 /2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until thoroughly blended and smooth. Sauce may be made up to 1 week in advance and refrigerated in an airtight, non-reactive container.
Yield: about 2 cups
