I was really pleased with how it turned out, the flat was really tasty and tender not as juicy as ive seen them on youtube from the states but that could of been my cooking as it was only my second brisket, the point I turned into burnt ends and they went down a treat.

Anyone else tried the East London Steak Co?????
I'm thinking about trying a packer and some short ribs myself from them but just wondering if its worth it or not. I can get a whole packer local and i have done before but just wonder if it would be a better cut and quality from Elsco?
Any info appreciated

I do not wish to speak ill of the ELSco, but surely, surely surely you have to be able to find meat at least as good in Scotland?????

I confess I have a dreadful prejudice against the rat infested utter stink hole that is London, and if it were down to me I would have it exported to France, and the "east London" thing has me thinking mockney, gawd blimey guvenor bestest steak in the whole of ole laaaardnen tawn, so I assert you must be able to get better and cheaper locally......

Don't do it think of the food miles, hug a tree eat a Scottish brisket!

I side with Tiny Scottish beef is some of the best avaiable, I wouldn't be surprised to find ELSCO selling it either. Buy local wherever possible :D

No problem getting as whole packer brisket.
Just thought i'd try and get a bit of feedback regarding ELSCO and the quality of the produce they offer but looks like all i'm going to get is tips on reducing my carbon footprint....

If you search for ELSCO on the forum, you will find quite a few posts, summarising them they are good, but expensive and why get something from a couple of hundred plus miles away when you can search out a local butcher and actually SEE what you are buying. Yes it may take visits to a few butchers but if you rang and asked beforehand it would save you petrol & time. Then when you have contact with the right guy he will be able to guide you through what he has to offer and where it comes from.
I'm sorry you weren't satisfied by the answers you were given, they all seem to be giving you their honest opinion, it looks to me that you were hoping to get an answer to salve your conscience about spending loads of money with ELSCO. After all it seems to be the quick fix for your brisket problem, but it is far better to actually see the product you are buying that way you know exactly what you will be getting and that would lead to building a rapport with your butcher which is always a good thing.
