Those temps must be meat temps, the kit itself must withstand higher temps than that in order to go in the oven.

Paulandabbie, that's the same reason I bought mine. As much as I want a maverick, I wasn't prepared to pay, what I thought was an over inflated price here in the U.K. when I can get myself over to the US, I am having it! That's if I haven't made my own arduino one before that. ;)

Yeah I had a look at the pricey one's but I can't pay that much for it! I as tight as a duck's...... :) Haha

Hopefully it won't be rubbish in a few months or I may as well have brought an expensive one, how long have you had yours?

I know what you're saying, running the risk of 'buy cheap, pay twice' but if it lasts more than a year, I'll be happy, any less and I will send it back. Been using it a couple of months now.

That was my thought too. A year and I will be happy to buy another one! Wouldn't mind if it last longer though :D

Keep an eye out at Lidl - i got a wireless one from them for about 12.99. The probes are all metal. As with everything at Lidl, it is seasonal.
