WRONG!!!!!
Big K ACH15 is only available in 15kg bags but works out at £8 per 12kg vs DC's £7, not really half the price is it.
Looking at DC's website it also looks like they have a 6 week wait on getting charcoal, so paying £1 extra for a constant supply all year round is a small price to pay.
I don't want to make a big deal out of this, but Big K have been a great sponsor and supporter to me over the last 4 years so i will stick up for them especially when someone is totally wrong.

If you order direct from Big K you can get this price but they do have a minimum order quantity of about 10 bags.
They also sell another type called BCH12 which is also good, doesn't spark and is even cheaper than ACH15

Ed, if they do sell it for £8 / 12kg I'm happy to stand corrected. Big K is really good stuff, so don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking your sponsor at all, just I've never been able to get restaurant grade charcoal easily at as good a price as from my supplier (plus they are close by so no delivery charge for me). There is also no minimum order (again, I dunno what the case is for delivery, I would assume there is a min order then). As for the wait, I guess that is for multiple pallet loads - I've never driven out there and not been able to fill my boot from stock, and they've never suggested I should ring and order ahead. Plus, £1 a bag is still a saving and I'm a tightwad
While we're discussing Big K RG charcoal though, is the BCH12 theoretically inferior to the ACH15, and do you find there is much difference in practice? And also what do you reckon to their RG briquettes?
Also how much do Big K charge on delivery for 10x12kg out of interest? If ever I get space to store that much (I can store 5 at a *squeeze*) it's worth considering.

Usually use the makro blue bags of charcoal but I'm finding it burns too quick. I'm currently on the heatbeads but boy are they expensive. I think the last wee beggy (4kg) was £7 from the range. Where are people getting theirs? (heatbeads

) Especially people in Berkshire.

I could be totally wrong, but I have a sneaky suspicion the blue bag RG stuff in Makro is from DC. It has exactly the same print on the bag etc - could be a coincidence, but as DC are a major importer and distributer it would make sense. I forget how much Makro sell it for. I've never found the stuff from DC burns too quick, but then I dunno if by the time its done the rounds at the Makro warehouses if it's been bashed about and made smaller?
