Thanks clayfish

Unfortunately, the vasconia tamale pot that I've found on Amazon won't ship to the UK.

I'm found a couple of Pots over here but I'm waiting to hear the dimensions.

Thanks again.

Do you mind me asking how much it cost in total to the pot from the US?

I'd love to build one of these but first i'd need to get the Smokey Joe and then with the cost of the pot compared to how cheap they are in the states, i'm not sure it's worth it for me compared to getting a Pro Q frontier or saving for a WSM.

What do think yours has cost?

And are you planning on painting it?

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

I managed to get it shipped to my works office in Portland and they sent it over with other bits so I didnt need to pay for the shipping to the UK. I think it cost me under £20. I have heard that there is a shop off edgeware road in London that has the correct size pots so I might go and have a look just out of interest, its not far from where I live.

I will do a post listing all the costs and links to parts. I am going to paint it, I just haven't got round to it yet. I am thinking of going for enamel black with some sort of logo left in silver but need to give it a bit of thought.

I got this from ebay, it was in Hong Kong but shipped quickly and only cost £2.19 so no import/handling fees from the royal mail. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-Ste ... 417a47f9be

Cheers. I bought a similar one from eBay which I fitted to my El Cheapo Bullet Smoker. I was surprised to find it was bang-on when I checked it in the spout of a boiling kettle. It's insane how they can manage to manufacture, sell and post these things at such low prices while still making a profit.

Thanks Bec.

I've phoned that store on Edgeware Road and they don't stock it anymore. It was a Sonex Traditional 6 28litre. The UK distributor said it's out of stock.

My brother lives in the states so i'll have to see if he can send me one. I don't suppose you can remember which company shipped it? Seemed pretty cheap at £20.

Thanks again

Dave

Hi Dave,

My work paid for the shipping as they happened to be sending other things to our UK office so it didn't cost me anything, the total cost of the pot was under £20.

I looked in the shop at the weekend and couldn't see the pot, shame they are out of stock. Can they not order it in? Have you tried contacting sonex directly?
