Great looking shelter Stu... I love the cedar shingles! ...does the chimney work well?

I'm thinking of building something to cover my offset smoker (getting really p****d off with the weather at the moment and want to get out and use it!) ...I wondered if the chimney would need to extend down to connect with the smokestack?

Is there anything you would change about it or do differently?

My refurbished 8x6 shed (The Smoke Shack) is proving a godsend allowing me to cook whatever the weather.

Hi Alex, the chimney doesn't work that well at all, most of the smoke blows around a bit and finds it's own way out.
If the air is totally still and the grill is smoking directly beneath the chimney, then yes is does look good and work.

I can see it working well with an extension to the chimney over your offset.

Change or do differently? Hmmm, maybe a bit wider than 4ft as when is was raining the other day I did get dripped on as I couldn't get under properly due to a roaring fire.

I'd also like to add shutters, or removable perspex 'windows' as when it really rains the shelves do bounce the water inwards.

P.S. I just added an update to my main post.

I like the idea of the solar light, but do you get enough sunshine to charge it?

Only put it up at the weekend, box says it's 'charges even in the winter' so only time will tell. I'll let you know if it's rubbish though.
