Someone on FB said they bought an Ivation probe from amazon and it works fine

Maverick have replied to my email and have said that the probes should be wrapped in foil to prevent damage whilst in use. I've never seen this in the manual. It's out of warranty so my only options are to either purchase new probes from them for £30 and wait for however long the delivery will take, or take my chances with those probes on Amazon that seem to get mixed reviews. I can't believe that after four uses, the probes have failed. It seems a bit rubbish to me...

Yeah I quite liked the dual probes on the ET-732. I was also looking at the ThermaQ but it's significantly more expensive and that's without the probes!

I use LIDL one I got for £12.99

I also use a 4 probe one I made myself using an Arduino and et-73 probes which transmits via bluetooth to an Android tablet, though for simple cooks, the lidl one is fine.
Keep an eye out - the lidl one may come back for the BBQ season, or look on ebay, an equivalent may be available.
