The chimney style is popular all over Europe and are available in the UK in kit form; I had one for many years and had some great results but its mainly for High Temp "direct" grilling.
Many countries have a derivative of the "metal dome" which in effect is a "Dutch Oven". It is the opposite of above in that its "Indirect" cooking. Google La Caja China for another derivative of the same thing
