Were they worth the effort???

I have to say they were pretty good. Very pleased for the money. Only 2.69 a kilo.

Yes they are excellent ribs. I wrapped mine in a couple of towels and put them up against the bottom step of our staircase and stamped on them. Sounds crude but I was going to make sure they fitted the freezer

I would defo buy them again.

I did a very quick smoke on the gas bbq saturday and finish in the oven.

Very pleased with them. Probably a little under done but wanted to get to know how long they would take. They pulled clean from the bone so only slightly shy.

I used a saw ! They have 3 types of ribs though . Very meaty ones are £36

My local booker only seems to stock 2. I got the belvedere ones, with Chinese looking writing on. 27 quid ex vat or something I think.

Great value though.

What colour box were they in as I picked up a box of the German extra meaty in a red box for £21.99 but I was confronted by almost a solid frozen block when I opened the box as they are not individually wrapped and it only had a couple of pieces of ill fitting separating film, I managed to prise 1 rack off the lump, put the rest in the fridge over night but then in the morning I only got another 2 racks off the lump, in the end I ended up running the cold tap and directing the water along the edge of the racks and they came away pretty easy and still frozen so then vac packed the 11 racks and back in the freezer.
I've now got 15 racks as got a pack of 4 from Costco Sunday too (very disappointing 120 round trip there) but they cost about £17 for the 4 and the butcher must have been badly trained as they were very poorly trimmed and I had to trim out shards of bone from every rib.

The yellow box belvedere ones.

That's another reason why i got the belvedere ones as they are individually wrapped. They also needed a bit of trimming, but over all very good. Generally i had to take excess meat off, so not a bad thing. Didn't have shards of bone thank god.
