We are down for the weekend, 6 of us, no kids though, leaving them back in the Midlands.

Should be in bristol about Midday hopefully, staying at the travelodge not to far away from Grillstock, so I will probably park up and go straight there.

;)

Really looking forward to it, more so knowing that some forumites from here are going. My current dilemma is what sized backpack to take - how many sauces, rubs and bbq gadgets can one man carry?! :D

I'll be travelling down in a discovery with a large boot area if you need me to bring anything back for you, it might only get as far as my back garden though ;)

Third for those beans, would of expected more to be honest. How did you stand overall?

Big Al, thankyou for your hospitality during our stay at grillstock. It was a very good experience and thanks for your advice.

 Sorry about the cider, although it did taste nice when I got back home.

Hope to see you very soon.

Eddie.

Had a great time at grillstock this weekend and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been. Really nice chilled out event, loads of people but at the same time not too busy.

Met a load of great people, sorry for imposing on you Saturday evening Al, I think I was being controlled by half a bottle of buffalo trace, I am starting to remember most of the evening but if I was in anyway annoying I apologise!

Sunday was great but had to leave before Hayseed Dixie finished and those boys were awesome....

Nice work Al,

Was there a Memphis invite for the winners this year again? I can't see it on the site anywhere.

Just a query too if you know. I'm not too familiar with the rules for MiM but, can the winners enter all the categories i.e whole hog and shoulder and ribs or is it just one and if so can the Grillstock winners choose their preferred category?

I watched a Food Network Challenge programme which featured one that Myron won (not sure of the year) and I couldn't work out if he was doing shoulders and whole hog, I know from the map they have different pitch areas. I would like to visit an MBN contest, not sure about compete but I am curious and I know some contests run both simultaneously.

Cheers

Adie

Where did you score that bottle?

We bought it from the buffalo trace stand along with a bottle of lemonade £26 seemed like a deal at the time, but then it was supposed to be shared between 6 of us and I think I had the lions share.

Anyway thanks for welcoming me on your stand and introducing me to some BBQ jedis...hope to see you around..
