JEC's on the money there. The ECB is far not great out of the box, by the time you've modded it you'll have spent more than a Frontier.
If you want cheap and good, then UDS is the way to go, if you don't mind spending a bit more then the Frontier is a great little cooker. Personally I'd say spend a bit more and get a WSM but that will blow your budget so let's not even consider that option.
As I'm such a gent, I went to Robert Dyas at lunch to check out that BBQ for you (nah I'm lying, I had to go there to get some ammonia and they had one on display
) It was made out of pretty thin steel, looks like a 1-2 season job to me.

I went to robert dyas this lunch time as well, and they had zero bbqs!!!
I've seen that you can get the weber one for about 100 quid, so i'm thinking of getting this.
This is really difficult to decide... I think which every i get first (gas or charcoal) they'll be many times i wish i had the other...

Go for the Weber. I started off with a Weber One Touch (the premium, but the original is fine too), and did not regret it a bit.

They had two at my local one. I was surprised, must be old stock. They had the AWT one and some crappy electric grill thing

Get the charcoal you can still be cooking in 20 minutes if you have a chimney starter and some quality lump wood charcoal, even a gas grill will take at least 10 to 15 minutes to get to temperature

Went to see my Mum and Dad this weekend and they let me have their Outback charcoal BBQ. It's not getting used so thought I would give it a go!
Just had some steak on it, and well chuffed to be BBQ again! But has anyone got any good pointers for smoking? I want to do some ribs next weekend.
Finally does anyone know any good places in Surrey to get wood chunks?
