Just to add that convention has been that very low scores do have to be justified to the Head Judge or Table Captain. For example, a newly-trained judge cannot just give a team a 2 for texture without a vetting process taking place.

You can also adapt yourself to each competition you are in. If IBQN start bending their own rules, that’s where arguments start and inconsistent judging begins ?

Does what Ray did count as moulding though? I know it is but it's not like he made a pork swan chasing a badger.

My personal view is that what he did makes for nice presentation but I asked in the other thread whether this would be legal.

All it takes is for one judge to stick to the rules and your box has failed. Although it isnt picked up every time i am sure it will be some of the time and personally i wouldnt want to take the risk. What we do is working well, as can be seen by the scores and results by UK teams that have competed in the states recently.
