Brisket Price

I was speaking with my butcher today about waygu brisket as they mentioned that they're getting a carcus in but when they told me the price it made my eyes water, £40 per kg!!!

So i'll be sticking with my normal brisket this weekend.

Is that carcas price or the price for a boned Brisket ?
Either way it's a bit steep, you didn't ask him for Kobe Wagyu did you?

I don't think you can get real Kobe Wagyu in this country.

It's a bit of a con anyway.

That's the price for boned and trimmed, i think the main problem here is that the farm uses the same breed of Waygu cow that is used for Kobe beef in japan hence the cost. I've seen some Welsh waygu which was priced at £16 per kg which i might give a try before going testing the £40 per kg stuff

£40 per kg? What was it fed on?!!!? Gold-infused grass picked by fairy maidens?! Per brisket maybe. Ouch. Did you query? That seems totally out of the park.

Well if it were Kobe you wouldn't be far off Simon as they're massaged by hand and fed beer, but looking at what the farm does with the animals, it's a heck of a price just to pay for the bread. Although if you thought the brisket price was bad their fillet seaks cost £90 per kg
