I have John's image indelibly engraved on my mind Interesting how slang terms mutate over time, that's another topic entirely.

my 1st bbq recolection was about 1980 me and a few mates came back from the pub one sunday lunch on a hot summers day and decided we were hungry so bought a cheep q and some burgers and sausages and spent the afternoon having fun, that then seemed to be the norm every sunday after that, till i built a brick built q in my new house. when i moved i bought a weber 1 touch and the rest is history. good days of bad bbqing not that it seemed it at the time.

when i was 10 i remember grilling hot dogs at a campfire in the summer and doing marshmellows and cooking baked potatoes in the fire many years ago. Wish i had started smoking ribs then!
